1) Introduction the treatment of Adult Hemiplegia Utilizing an NDT Approach

This one day, hands-on course will provide you with anincreased understanding of NDT Principles and how hemiplegia alters thebiomechanics of the trunk and limbs. You will learn to provide effective treatmentinterventions for your neurologic clients who are unable to control a symmetricalposture in sitting due to various impairments. You will also learn how to accesscomponents of movement of the trunk and LE’s required for sitting and transfers.Emphasis will be on the clinical application of these principles through lecture andthe use of various labs. You will gain an increased appreciation of how NDT caninfluence function. Participants will be able to apply this information in acute, rehab,and home environments.

Continuing Education Credit:

This course has been approved for 7.0 Contact Hours by Dominican Hospital. Dominican Hospital is an agency recognized by the Physical Therapy Board of California to approve courses for continuing education units (CEUs)

2) 23rd Annual Pediatric Emergency Conference

Course Objectives: By the end of this presentation participants will be able to:
•Identify the signs and symptoms of DKA and utilization of pediatric guidelines for the management of DKA.

•Pain control and conscious sedation in the Pediatric patient in the Emergency Department

•Utilize the Pediatric Assessment Triangle for infants or children who present to the Emergency Department from the pre-hospital setting

•Simplifying pediatric treatment protocols

•Pediatric emergency challenges of the legalization of THC
