A long an active industry, civic and business leader, Ted has been involved with the Dominican Hospital Foundation in various roles for many years having served as Treasurer, Vice President and Chair of several committees. He has taken a special interest in Dominican employees, serving on the Employee Giving Committee for several years.

“The Foundation Board of Directors has been working diligently to raise awareness of the essential role Dominican plays in Santa Cruz; developing key initiatives; and increasing private support,” says Ted. “It is through this work and through the generous support of our community and donors that we are able to bring the most innovative technology to our hospital and to the community it serves.”

Ted began his restaurant career as a summer waiter and bartender at Shadowbrook Restaurant in Capitola while attending language school in Monterey in preparation for further graduate studies at the prestigious Thunderbird School of Global Management ---- and he never left! In just a few short years, Ted advanced from part-time employee to co-owner. He and partner Bob Munsey built the Shadowbrook and Crow’s Nest into a major Central Coast attractions and one of the most unique and beautiful restaurants in California.
